Sustainable Cupar FAB - Fruit mapping

National Library of Scotland

The National Library of Scotland provide a number of excellent digitised maps of Scotland.

FAB have been working along the Orchard walk and a couple of the maps show the the walk very clearly.

Town Plan of Cupar 1854

This is one of the maps included on the site it gives a map of the town rich in detail including the trees which were planted around the town. Clicking on sheet 8 displays the orchard walk just below The Barony where FAB are currently helping to prune the fruit trees along the walk.

Town Plan of Cupar 1893 - 94

The town plan from 1893 - 94 is also available on the site. To view the Orchard walk click on sheet XIII.4.9 .

View both the old and the new!

The site also allows users to overlay the old map over a modern map, which lets you see a direct comparison between Cupar now and then. On either of the town plans pick the "satellite image overlay" option.
